Moomins and Klovharun
Porvoo has always been an inspiration to numerous artists. The creator of Moomins, Tove Jansson, and artist Tuulikki Pietilä spent nearly 30 summers on the small and bare islet of Klovharu in Pellinki, living productive and full lives. The Moomin books reflect the impact the surging Gulf of Finland had on Tove Jansson.
