Boats and sailing
The guest marina for small boats is in the centre of Porvoo at Jokiranta, and there are visitor harbours at Tirmo, Hamari and Pellinki in Sandholmsudden. There are many jetties where you can moor in the archipelago (see separate “Boat harbours in the eastern Gulf of Finland” brochure and www.uudenmaanvirkistysalueyhdistys.fi). Even without your own boat you can sail from Porvoo, for example, on the Saaristolinja boats m/s Fredrika or m/s Sandra D and the Royal Line’s m/s Katarina (departure and return to the passenger harbour). The charming old Bargass Borgå cruises on the river and offers panoramic views of Old Porvoo. You can always rent a boat, too, and the taxi boats are excellent for small groups.
Porvoo’s guest marina
A friendly guest marina in the centre of town close to all services. The marina is open from May to the end of September.

Tirmo Archipelago Centre
Tirmo invites you to relax and enjoy yourself at the Tirmo Archipelago Centre. It is situated 25 km from the centre of Porvoo and is easy to reach both by land and by sea.
In summer 2011 Tirmo offers something new – a marina and sauna facilities. The Archipelago Centre also has a fully-licensed restaurant, Tirmobaren, a shop and fuel station and a laundry room. During the tourist season, dances and live music are arranged.

Benitas Café
Benitas Café is a genuine islanders’ café at Pellinki, Sandholmsudden, visitor harbour (approx. 35 km from Porvoo town centre).
The café is easily accessible either by car or by boat. There is also an outdoor market on summer Saturdays.
